It seems to just take forever to complete a quilt these days. I started piecing it a year ago and I'm just now finishing it. It turned out very nice I do enjoy the process. Just not enough time to spend in front of the machine.

Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire

Wow back from SAF and we had a blast. It was so wonderful to meet Nichole, Jane and Julie. The design team was amazing so graciously giving of their time and talent. Here's a picture of Michelle Wooderson and I. I just can't say enough about all of these ladies. And the inspiration has got me really going in my stamp room. Thanks so much to all of the Papertrey ink team!
Of course thanks to Angie for joining me on this little adventure. The little blue jeep going over the little blue bridge multiple times and pretty much endangering our life with every turn was enough excitement for a life time. Cincinnati will never be the same. And got a love those parking garages!!! But our dinner at Brio was worth all the hassles.

Back From CHI and a little sad!
I feel so strange coming back home after just 3 days at Creative Health Institue in Union City Michigan. I was there for the Raw Food Chef I weekend. I kind of feel like
a Vet coming back from Nam and not fitting in. I guess I didn't realize how well I did fit in with the gang at CHI. Not that my family isn't supportive their just not on the same page. Some friends asked how my weekend went and they were looking for "Great Thanks how was yours"? And I started in with the "Oh My!! it was life changing" They quickly lost interest.
My stomach has been upset since I drove away and headed home. I could barely choke down a green smoothie on Sunday night. I really couldn't eat much on Monday just green smoothies, fresh juice and a small salad at night.
Today was a little better I was able to eat a little hummus. I really didn't feel like having dinner but I knew I'd get hungry later so I made a little Corn Salad. I kept it real simple and with not a lot of food in the house I did O.K. I could see how a juice fast would of been great after the Chef weekend. I wish I could of stayed and done it.
Corn Salad
1 bag of frozen corn
1 small white onion
1/2 orange pepper
1 tomato
Handful of chopped soaked Sun Dried Tomatoes
Balsamic Vinegar splash or 2
Salt and Pepper dash or 2
Olive Oil drizzle or 2
Chop Mix and Enjoy.
I miss everyone from CHI!!! I hope and pray we can stay connected via the internet and maybe another weekend at CHI.

Trying to stop the night time cravings
Trying to get back into the swing of things after the surgery and get away from processed foods. God bless Brad and the boys they did the best they could. Actually they were pretty good at making smoothies.
So tonight I was reaching for the junk and decided to make a smoothie instead.
Elizabeth makes these amazing smoothies and she also was featured on Blend It and Mend It. Both are great blogs to check out.
So I tried to make her Cherry Green Goddess Smoothie. I say tried because I didn't have Cherries so I used Strawberries.
My version was:
1 cup of frozen strawberries
one banana
1/2 tb. Hemp
1/2 tb.Chia seeds
3 soaked dates
handful of kale
water
It turned out great thanks for the inspiration ladies.

Don't look if your squeamish
So here's my after staples pictures. I had four staples on the top of my arm. No biggy.

And 21 staples underneath. It's nasty looking. I've been putting Lavender Oil on it as suggested by a friend. Any other great home remedies that you have please share.

I had a little hot flash at church this morning and took off my jacket and sweater when we first arrived ( I had a t-shirt on underneath). I didn't think about it at all but there were 3 little kids behind us with their family and every time I stood and folded my hands or stuck my hand in my back pocket the kids had a perfect view of my scar. I think I freaked them out a little. Finally I put my sweater back on and I stopped scaring little children.
The whole surgery and healing has not been that bad at all. On a day to day basis I had more pain before the surgery than after. So I guess you would call that a success. The nerve pain I suffered with for almost three years is gone!!! That is a blessing from God.

I found this great website for Christian Gifts
I was snooping around one of my Decorating sites and the lady at The Inspired Room Blog has these dishes and pedestal. The dishes are so cute they have scripture written on the insides and outside edges. And the hurricanes are beautiful. Great prices too. Would be a great place to buy special gifts for that certain someone. Check it out Dayspring.

4 more days and off comes my bandage unless I take it off sooner!!
Look what I found as I was itching like crazy.

I really didn't think they would use staples. My arm is gonna look like Frankenstein.
As I was pacing around the house with nothing to do I finally located my Easter Eggs that my Grandma hand painted for me. I'm always amazed at the their beauty. She was an incredible artist.

And of course I made the table runner. So cute. I want to try my hand at this topiary I saw on line. But I have to stop eating the jelly beans first.

Buckeye Bag and cleaning up loose ends
Kind of freaking out about my impending surgery on the 14th!!! I feel like I have to have everything completed like I'm losing my arm forever. So what do I do? I go make a purse!!
I finished my Buckeye Bag finally and also made a couple of wristlets.

One of the wristlets is from a dress I bought at the thrift store. It was a beautiful dress and it fit me perfectly.

But than I cut it apart and really didn't think it through. I broke off 2 needles and did more cursing than I ever had. The other wristlet I made from a vintage table cloth from the 1950's that I picked up at a flea market. The feel of the fabric is like no other. There's nothing like vintage fabric. Fabric made today cannot even come close to the quality. I'm cleaning like crazy today while Brad and boys go skiing.

Peace Cynthia
